Searchlights were used extensively in defence against night time aerial bomber raids around the time of World War 11.
Searchlights were occasionally used tactically in ground battle but were extensively used on the Norther Coast of Australia during World War 11.
Searchlight has been made by cutting thin strips of glass in different colours and the fusing them together. It would make a delightful cheese platter or look great on a stand or fixed directly to the wall.
